AI has changed the way I approach freelance web development. š
As a freelancer, I've been experimenting with AI not just for generating code, but for improving the entire workflow.
Here are 3 areas where I've found it particularly useful:
1. Planning before coding
I use AI to break a client's requirements into pages, sections, features, and a clear development plan before touching the code.
2. Faster development
AI can help generate initial HTML, CSS, JavaScript and component structures, which gives me a starting point instead of building everything from scratch.
3. Reviewing & improving
After building a website, I use AI to review the code, identify potential issues, improve responsiveness, and suggest UX improvements.
The biggest lesson I've learned is that AI works best as a workflow assistant, not a replacement for the freelancer.
The freelancer still needs to understand the client's goal, make the right decisions, and review the final output.
